Nubian Goats
The Nubian is a very well known breed of dairy goat, trademarked by their long, drooping ears and roman noses. They are typically larger and more vociferous than any other breed. Nubians milk out an average of 1 gallon per day, and about 230 gallons a year, according to the ADGA.
Nubians can grow to be anywhere from 120-300 pounds. Bucks average at 36 inches tall at their withers, and does mark up a bit shorter at 32 inches.
Nubian milk tends to have a better taste than some breeds, such as Toggenburg or Oberhasli, who's Swiss origins bred them specifically for "goaty" tasting milk. Nubians also have the highest butterfat content of any other standard size breed, 5%+, and come in second for all breeds (the first being Nigerian Dwarf).
